NBA Playoffs

First of all my personal belief is that the Las Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant will win the world championship for the third time in a row. I think the only other team that could beat them right now is the Chicago Bulls and Derek Rose.

This reason I think this is that Kobe always seems to find a way to win a best of seven series. I think that Kobe just has to big of a will and desire to win and he is so good. I think he is the second most intense player when it comes to the playoffs behind Kevin Garnett aka KG.

I think the Lakers team around Kobe is also good but honestly the Boston Celtics are the best team period. I think when you mix 4 players like Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnet, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen that they should be unstoppable.  I think this because all four of them fit together and play together so well even though they might not be the best team they play the best as a team.

Although I still think what I said about the Celtics is  true I don’t think they will beat the Bulls in the eastern conference mainly because of Derek Rose. I think that they Bulls play great as a team but not as great as the Celtics. With that being said  I still think that Derek Rose is like Kobe where he can put the team on his back and somehow find a way to win. I think he is up towards the top five players in the league and also has a great will and desire to win. Also even if the Celtics do manage to beat the Bulls, they will more than likely have to play the Lakers and beat two great teams in a row  in a best of seven series.

I still think the Lakers are going to win it all and I told you why. But now I want to tell who I think will make the top 6 teams. OK obviously I think lakers get first and bulls get second. I think that the in the eastern conference the Celtics will get beat and take third or fourth. In the western Conference the Lakers will beat the Grizzlies in  the semi-finals and that the Grizzlies will take third or fourth. I think in the west that the Dallas Mavericks will take fifth or sixth and in the east the Atlanta Hawks will take fifth or sixth.

OK now thanks for reading my take on the NBA playoffs.

GreenBay All The Way!!!

Last Sunday, the GreenBay Packers faced the Pittsburg Steelers in the Superbowl. There was a lot of hype at school about who would win and me [Ridge] and Jake were the only ones who picked GreenBay.  I honestly hate the Steelers and that was a big influence on who I picked to win.  I thought that Aaron Rodgers was just too good, so thats why I picked GreenBay.

It wasn’t that close in the first half, the Packers really dominated with Big Ben throwing an interception which got returned for a touchdown.  Also, Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to build the lead.  The second half was completely different, the Steelers couldn’t be  stopped and the Packers could not do anything.  Even though the Steelers started to come back,  they could not win. GreenBay ended up wining 31-25…Go Packers!!!

The Big Game

On Monday, the Ohio State Buckeyes faced Ryan Mallet and Arkansas. It was a very big game because it was a bowl game/playoff game. It was also very important because it was the Sugar Bowl and that is one of the biggest bowl games. Coming into the game, Ohio State was the underdog.

Ohio State got going fast, scoring a touchdown on their first possession and then suprisingly, Jim Tressel, who is usally very conservative, tried an onside kick but failed to recover. Ohio State got the ball and they were taking some  chances in the first half, which paid off because we went into halftime with a 28-7 lead.

In the second half, Ohio State was going downhill because we could not do anything good and Arkansas was playing very well. I think the reason is we decided to play conservative again since we had a big lead, but it definately did not pay off. Even though things were not going our way the second half , at the end of the game when all Arkansas needed was a touchdown to win, our defense got an interception and that sealed the win 31-28.

Ohio State Still Rolling

Just yesterday, Jim Tressel and the Ohio State Buckeyes faced their rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. Coach Tressel has had success against his rival, improving his record to 9-1 against them after Saturday’s game.

We beat the Wolverines 37-7. The thing I was most impressed with was our defense. I was shocked to see us hold a great quarter back like Denard Robinson and a good Michigan offense to only 7 points.

Our offense also played well I thought. I mean 37 points isn’t a ton, but it’s pretty good I thought. I know it’s not bad for sure, but I don’t know what you guys reading this think good is so…

I am thank ful the Buckeyes finished the season strong with a 10-1 record. I am very happy to see them beat their rivals and I can’t wait for  the bowl game!

New Coach Improvment?

The used to be 3-7 Minnesota Vikings fired their head coach Brad Childress last week after their loss to the Greenbay Packers. Our defensive coordinator, Leslie Frazier, stepped up to be the coach.

Our new coach said that he was going to try to get our half back, Adrian Peterson, the ball more. I think his decision paid off since we got the win 17-13. Although half back Adrian Peterson only played the first quarter due to injury, he played well when he was in with around 40 receiving and rushing yards, plus a five yard touchdown. I am happy they got the win today to improve their record to 4-7.

I hope Peterson can play next week because he plays a big part in the Minnesota offense. He is leading the league in most rushing yards this season, so it pays to have him on the team I like. I also hope our leading receiver Percy Harvin stays migraine free, because he has had some lately.

Vikings Bounce Back

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgur

Just yesterday the Minnesota Vikings beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-21! It was a home game at Minnesota so that gave the Vikings the advantage. This win improves the Vikings record to 2-3 which has a lot of a better chance of making the playoffs than 1-4 would.

I was really happy the Vikings won and the Cowboys lost! The reason I say that is because I followed in my dads footsteps being a Vikings fan and my dad hates the Cowboys so I hate the Cowboys.

If their was two people I could give MVP (most valuable player) to the Vikings (one for offence one for defence). The player I would chose for defence it Antoine Windfield and for offence I would chose Percy Harvin.
